They will help you sharpen your knives into details with smooth sharpness. Naniwa has been manufacturing quality water stones for over 60 years in Osaka, Japan. 

The NANIWA Professional sharpening stone is the hardest Japanese sharpening stone, therefore wear is absolutely minimal and life expectancy is maximum. It not only sharpens well, but also quickly. Experienced users can really feel the difference with this stone. The secret that makes these high quality sharpeners different from other sharpeners is that they are bonded with magnesium, not resin. They have a higher density of finely graded abrasive particles per unit surface area than resin-bonded stones. There is no need to exert force while sharpening. Naniwa professional water stones are available in the following grits: 400, 600, 800, 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000 and 10,000. While it is not necessary to own every single grit, we recommend at least three. A good set with three grits is 400, 1000 and 5000.

Soaking professional stones is not recommended. We recommend keeping a spray bottle handy to keep stones wet while sharpening.
