The Boker Solingen M4 Sherman Damast Rose Gold knife is more than just a knife; it is a tribute to the legendary M4 Sherman tank, one of the most iconic military vehicles in history. Designed in 1940, the M4 Sherman played a key role in the Second World War, seeing action on all major theatres of war – from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and China to even the Soviet Union. Between 1942 and 1945, nearly 50,000 M4 Shermans were produced, and they remained in service until 1957. The Sherman tank is renowned for its infantry support, offensive capabilities and defensive strength, marking a turning point in the war. The Boker M4 Sherman-Damast Rose Gold pays tribute to this iconic vehicle, combining masterful craftsmanship with historical significance. In collaboration with the ‘Americans in Wartime’ museum in Virginia, we have managed to preserve a unique piece of history. The knife is fitted with a Damascus blade crafted from materials taken from restored M4 Sherman tanks. The intricate 80-layer Damascus blade was hand-forged by renowned blacksmith Chad Nichols in a bespoke ‘ladder’ pattern. This unique design resembles the tracks left by the Sherman’s heavy tracks on the ground and symbolises the Sherman’s historic impact on the course of the war. Furthermore, this special model features a rose gold finish on the blade, clip and screws, giving the knife a particularly elegant finish. The one-handed opening knife can be easily opened using the flipper or the thumb stud and is securely locked in place by a robust frame-lock mechanism. The Hinderer Lock-Stop mechanism prevents the lock from being over-extended, adding extra durability. The pivot screw is modelled on the iconic gear wheel of a tank’s main drive, whilst the handle is crafted from a combination of titanium and carbon fibre, offering not only a modern, lightweight feel but also exceptional durability and aesthetic appeal. This collector’s knife features a lanyard hole and a Deep-Carry Tip-Up clip, allowing for comfortable and discreet carrying. Handcrafted at the Boker knife factory in Solingen, this limited edition of just 500 pieces worldwide is an exclusive collector’s item, supplied with a certificate of authenticity and an individual serial number. The knife is presented in an elegant display case, highlighting the uniqueness of this exceptional model.
