The Caldwell Ballistic Precision G2 chronograph redefines conventional chronograph technology. The G2 is capable of taking measurements in low-light conditions, even indoors, making its measurements more accurate than those of other chronographs. Greater accuracy is achieved through light sensors positioned 46 cm from each other for greater precision, the use of a high-speed 48 MHz processor, and a circuit design featuring an advanced data interface that allows each unit to be computer-calibrated. The end result is the ability to provide much greater accuracy than other chronographs on the market (+/- .25%) from 5 to 9,999 FPS. Although technologically advanced, the device is designed to be easy to use, displaying velocity in feet per second or meters per second on the large built-in LCD screen. The chronograph can also transmit velocity data via the 15-foot audio jack cable (included) to a smartphone or mobile device. A free downloadable app is available that displays the velocity of each shot on the phone’s screen and records it along with other data identifying the load and environmental conditions. The app also automatically calculates the average velocity, standard deviation, minimum, maximum, and velocity spread for consecutive shots. The data is stored and can be exported via email. The visors are exceptionally wide for better reliability on sunny days and are made of durable synthetic material.
