Instead, it is carved from a single piece of very thick hippopotamus hide. Cold Steel has produced a synthetic version of the classic Sjambok. Featuring a thick, sturdy fringe, injection-molded from polypropylene and equipped with a soft, comfortable craton handle designed to resemble braided leather. Since it is made entirely of super-durable plastic, it is impervious to the elements and will never break, crack, warp, or mold.
