The Boker Solingen Daily Knives AK1 American Tanto is a compact fixed-blade EDC knife that combines uncompromising functionality with an elegant design. Created in collaboration with the young knife maker Alex Kremer and Daily Customs, the Boker Daily Knives AK1 is a versatile little everyday knife that is not only thoroughly convincing as an EDC but has already achieved cult status. Alex Kremer, born in Fulda in 1993, began making his first knives at the age of 18, and his numerous journeys through the vast expanses of Scandinavia remain a source of inspiration for him to this day. His AK1 design is the first to feature a short reverse tanto blade, crafted from CPM MagnaCut powder-metallurgy steel (61–62 HRC), a high-performance steel that combines high corrosion resistance with excellent edge retention. The ergonomically shaped, comfortable grip scales are made from Ultem, a high-performance thermoplastic with a breathtaking, semi-translucent amber appearance. They can be easily removed using the supplied Torx key and can be replaced with a wide range of alternative scales, developed and manufactured in collaboration with Daily Customs. Furthermore, the intricately crafted mounting hole at the end of the handle can be rotated when the handle scales are removed, so that it blends into the handle. It is made from MagnaCut, just like the full-tang blade itself, with minimal manufacturing tolerances. This means the knife can be adapted to your own requirements in the shortest possible time and modified to suit the situation. It comes with a high-quality black leather sheath, which is fitted with a sewn-on Ulticlip fastener and can be easily secured to the pocket flap thanks to the locking spring clip. This allows the AK1 to be drawn effortlessly, whilst the sheath is held in place by the Ulticlip fastener. Handcrafted at the Boker knife factory in Solingen.
