The CRKT HZ4 knife is designed based on decades of experience in martial arts and teaching combat tactics to the world’s top elite soldiers and law enforcement officers. James Williams developed the HZ4 as a modern tactical knife. Reminiscent in shape of a Japanese Hira-Zukuri sword, the HZ4 offers the same powerful cutting performance as the longer fixed blade of the HZ6 in a more compact form. The Japanese-style tanto blade is crafted from durable SK-5 carbon steel and features a black coating for a subdued appearance. The textured G10 handle offers excellent grip even in wet conditions and when wearing gloves, and the versatile Kydex sheath can be carried discreetly thanks to the modular clip with a high retention rating.
