Description
The Fox Ryu Niolox Micarta Green fixed-blade knife is a modern interpretation of the classic Japanese tanto sword. A short sword that was originally used by samurai. Today, the term “tanto” refers to a specific blade shape. It is characterized by a pointed tip and a straight spine. This is clearly visible when you look at the Fox Ryu. Due to its sturdy tip, this type of blade is ideal for piercing tasks. But everyday tasks like opening a can will also be a breeze. The Micarta handle really stands out with improved finger grooves and texture that ensure a secure grip. The end of the handle has a lanyard hole for attaching a piece of paracord and is reinforced with a glass fiber insert. Fox Knives paid a lot of attention to detail. Everything is nicely rounded to ensure that the only sharp part is the cutting edge. The blade is made of Niolox steel. A German-style tool steel that is highly resistant to rust, but may discolor slightly when exposed to salt and acids. When it comes to edge retention, Niolox is comparable to D2 steel, but is even more resistant to chipping. It has a fine grain structure and is easy to sharpen.
