The TRC Knives Apocalypse Stonewashed Double Black Canvas Micarta knife is now available in a new version with a Stonewash-coated blade in a shade of gray that complements the classic black handle, crafted from a special variant of the original Micarta. As is well known, standard black Micarta-originally developed in the U.S.-contains shades of gray and black of varying tones, despite its name “black.” Double Black Canvas Micarta is characterized by a pure color tone similar to black G10 composite, but it is lighter and is sure to appeal to those who do not prefer plain G10. Overall, regardless of the version, the Apocalypse is, on the one hand, a knife designed for extreme survival needs when we find ourselves in a “do or die” situation. On the other hand, it’s a versatile choice for everyday bushcraft tasks, where-in addition to its standard cutting and whittling functions-its large size allows it to effectively replace an axe (for splitting wood) or a machete (for clearing camping sites, trails, etc.).
