The Bailout Tanto CPM M4 Aluminum folding knife is a lightweight, durable pocket knife. The Bailout is a larger version of the famous Benchmade Bugout. One of the best EDC knives ever made, designed for hikers who count every gram. This improved version of the Bailout is undoubtedly another home run for Benchmade. The blade is made of CPM M4 steel. This is a tool steel with excellent edge retention. M4 is also very durable and, compared to other types of high-performance steel, relatively easy to sharpen. The only thing to watch out for is rust: CPM M4 is not corrosion-resistant. To compensate for this, Benchmade has enhanced the blade with a gray Cerakote coating. The first thing you’ll notice is the handle, made of high-quality aluminum instead of plastic. The result is a sturdier, less flexible handle with diamond-cut grooves for extra grip.
