The Böker Plus Atropos VG10 Micarta knife was designed by American knife designer Chuck Gedraitis in collaboration with Böker. The Böker Plus Atropos is a tactical pocket knife that draws on the legacy of Rex Applegate’s iconic designs. This pocket knife features a symmetrical design characterized by its single-edged blade. The knife opens smoothly thanks to its ball bearings and thumb disc. It comes with an up-tipped clip and a nylon sheath. The blade is made of VG10 steel. This is a very high-quality and popular type of steel from Japan. It is corrosion-resistant, sharpens easily to a razor-sharp edge, and retains its sharpness very well. The “stonewash” process was chosen for the blade’s finish. The stonewash process involves placing the blade in a drum filled with ceramic stones, where it is tumbled for several hours. The result is a finish that appears either precisely polished or textured, depending on the version. The advantage of the stonewash finish, however, is that signs of wear are much less noticeable. This makes it a popular choice for knives that are used very frequently.
