The Fox Edge Sparrow 9Cr13 Aluminum Blue knife is a lightweight E.D.C. folding knife from the Italian brand FoxEdge, featuring a blue handle made of anodized aluminum with a sandblasted finish. The design by renowned Italian knife maker Denis Simonutti combines a hard-to-match balance of value and functionality. 9Cr13MoV-commonly abbreviated as 9Cr13-is a martensitic stainless tool steel. The high content of 13.5% chromium (Cr) and 0.85% carbon (C) ensures high corrosion resistance, while the addition of alloying elements-1.0% manganese (Mn), 1.0% silicon (Si), and 1.0% cobalt (Co) increases the steel’s strength and hardness. The hardness of 3Cr13 can range from 60 to 62 HRC, depending on the manufacturer. Easy to sharpen, widely used in the manufacture of knives, scissors, and medical equipment. Blade type: Clip Point, finished with a sandblasted coating that masks scratches. The long cutting edge, with a clearly defined belly, tapers down to the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The blade’s thickness ensures high strength, while the high, flat grind guarantees excellent cutting performance.
