The inspiration for this line stems from DUCA, the name of the multifunctional knife used by the people of Maniago-a knife that originated in the second half of the 1800s in Maniago. These knives were presented at the National Exhibition in Turin in 1888 by the Bet Giovanni company, which won a gold medal for the quality of its products. And so, most likely, Luigi Amedeo of Savoy, Duke of Abruzzo, visited one of the company’s two stores in Turin, where he ordered the multifunctional four-blade knife, which he selected as part of the equipment for the North Pole expedition he led in 1899.
