The Opinel Les Effiles No. 12 knife is manufactured by the French company Opinel, which has a 120-year history and has become a symbol of French culture and tradition. The first Opinel was created in 1890 by Joseph Opinel, who was 18 years old at the time and worked in his family’s tool workshop. The knife quickly gained popularity among local farmers, ranchers, and winegrowers thanks to its lightness and durability. This popularity soon spread beyond the borders of the Savoie region and, today, even beyond France. This model Opinel No. 12 features a 12-cm polished stainless steel blade, suitable for filleting, and its handle is made of African bubinga wood. The knife features the Viroblock system, which locks the blade in both the open and folded positions for safety during use or storage.
