Description
The Opinel Les Effiles No. 8 knife is manufactured by the French company Opinel, which has a 120-year history and has become a symbol of French culture and traditions. The first Opinel was created in 1890 by Joseph Opinel, who was 18 years old at the time and worked in his family’s cutlery workshop. The knife quickly gained popularity among local farmers, ranchers, and winegrowers thanks to its lightness and durability. This popularity soon spread beyond the borders of the Savoie region and, today, beyond France as well. This Opinel No. 8 model features an 8.5 cm blade made of polished stainless steel, and its handle is crafted from African bubinga wood. The knife features the Viroblock system, which locks the blade in both the open and folded positions for safety during use or storage.
- Blade: 8.5 cm stainless steel
- Handle: Bubinga, a compact African wood with a fine grain. Its color ranges from brown to pink with purple veins.
- Safety system: Viroblock
- Manufactured in France
