Description
Sabrage is the technique of opening a bottle of champagne with a saber. This technique became popular in France after the French Revolution. The saber was the weapon of choice for Napoleon’s formidable cavalry, and their spectacular victories across Europe gave them cause for celebration. It is said that Napoleon once remarked: “Champagne! In victory, one deserves it; in defeat, one needs it.”
The Fox Knives SOMMELIER’S SABRE features a stainless steel blade, a molded rubber grip wrapped in brass wire, and a nickel-plated cast iron guard and handle. The saber comes with a wooden stand and a deluxe box.
