Description

The Sharp Edge tactical glasses from the American company Edge Eyewear are lightweight and affordable glasses that offer full coverage and eye protection. Flexible matte-black frame temples are equipped with soft rubber inserts for enhanced comfort and a non-slip grip. The model is rimless at the bottom to avoid restricting the field of view; the frames are tapered for greater comfort when worn with ear protection, making the model ideal for shooting. Each pair of glasses includes a storage and cleaning pouch. The G-15 lens technology was developed for the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s. Experiments have shown that this specific technology, within the visible spectrum, helps prevent eye fatigue. The lenses feature a Vapor Shield coating, which minimizes fogging under various weather conditions.
Edge Tactical Eyewear has been tested in independent laboratories and meets the following military and civilian certifications: ANSI Z87.1+2015, Military Ballistic MCEPS GL-PD 10-12, and EN166 F CE. All lenses block 99.9% of UVA, UVB, and UVC ultraviolet rays and feature a scratch-resistant coating.

The U.S. Air Force developed this specialized technology for use in aviator lenses during the 1950s. Through extensive experimentation with the light spectrum, it was found that the transmission of green and yellow light could be maximized at 550 nanometers (the two colors best perceived by the human eye). The result is a neutral and true-to-life view, which provides a noticeable cooling sensation for the eyes. Edge Eyewear is the first company ever to offer a safety-rated G-15 lens.
