The Helikon-Tex Lightweight Poncho – Polyester can be transformed into a shelter and is made of tear-resistant polyester fabric with a rip-stop coating. This is an improved, lighter version of our US Model poncho. The standard American poncho has a tradition spanning nearly 60 years and still works well, but when designing the lightweight poncho, we removed various structural elements, leaving only the most essential ones. By replacing the metal snaps with loops made of sturdy webbing, we reduced the weight and minimized the poncho’s size when folded, while maintaining its full size when unfolded. The rain poncho has two buttons that allow the sleeves to be adjusted to prevent them from billowing when worn. The new hood design features a practical drawstring adjuster that works much better than the original. The lightweight poncho can be packed into the included carrying bag when folded. All attachment points are reinforced with a special tear-resistant fabric.
