Description
The Opinel No. 8 knife, part of the Animalia series, is manufactured by the French company Opinel, which has a 120-year history and has become a symbol of French culture and traditions. The first Opinel was created in 1890 by Joseph Opinel, who was 18 years old at the time and worked in his family’s cutlery workshop. The knife quickly gained popularity among local farmers, ranchers, and winegrowers thanks to its lightness and durability. This popularity soon spread beyond the borders of the Savoie region and, today, even beyond France. The Opinel No. 8 features an 8.5 cm stainless steel blade, and its handle is made of polished and lacquered oak with a laser-engraved wild boar design. This knife features the Viroblock system, which locks the blade in both the open and folded positions for safety during use or storage. The Opinel Animali No. 8 knife comes with a box and makes an excellent gift.
