SCHERELLS SCHAFTOL 50 ml BALLISTOL Wood Oilis an oil for treating dark wood. Nowadays, most sporting rifles are manufactured with a stock that has been specially pre-treated with oil. Unfortunately, this protection does not last forever. Wood-and consequently the wood used to make stocks-is hygroscopic. The stock is often exposed to moisture and temperature fluctuations during hunting. All these factors affect it and can lead to warping and cracks, which in turn affect the accuracy and overall condition of the firearm.””SCHAFTOL” oil is specially formulated to protect the stock from moisture absorption, cracking, and staining. The oil is made entirely from natural ingredients with a small amount of silicone added. Regular treatment with the oil provides lasting protection for the stock against the effects of weather and extends the overall lifespan of the firearm.
Application Instructions: Apply a few drops of the oil to a linen cloth and rub it into the stock; repeat the procedure the following day. If there are damaged areas or rough spots on the surface, sand down the irregularities with No. 150 fine-grit sandpaper before applying the oil. Wipe the cleaned areas with water or, better yet, with vinegar. After drying, sand once more with No. 400 sandpaper, then rub vigorously with a linen cloth soaked in SCHAFTOL®.
