Description

The Exotac FireRod XL magnesium lighter is the fireROD’s bigger brother and was created in response to numerous requests! Not only is it larger, but it also includes tinder to make starting a fire easier. The fireROD series was created as the perfect fire-starting tool. The ferrocerium rod is replaceable, so you won’t have to throw this tool away when it wears out. The design is simple, extremely reliable, and offers enough space to store tinder or water purification tablets. Use the back of your knife to strike the fireROD XL. Many bushcraft knives do not have rounded edges on the back, making them sharp enough to use as a fire-starting tool. Remove the top cap to reveal a large compartment that holds four quickLIGHT wicks (included) or a water purification powder of your choice. The approximately 4.7 cm repair patch can be used to patch holes, as a makeshift bandage, or even as tinder (yes, it’s flammable!). The FireROD XL is CNC-machined from high-quality American 6061 aluminum and then anodized for protection in one of Exotac’s four signature colors.
