Exotac NanoStriker XL Refill Kit (Replacement Magnesium Rod)

Description

The Exotac NanoStriker XL spare magnesium rod uses a patented rare-earth metal alloy called ferrocarium. Some of these metals include iron, cerium, and magnesium. When a ferrocerium rod is rapidly scraped, the resulting friction ignites the shavings, producing molten globules of burning metal. It is these long-burning molten metal globules that make the ferrocarium igniter so effective at igniting other materials. HOW TO REPLACE: To replace an old rod, simply unscrew the rod and screw in the new one. Make sure the rod is snugly secured in the rod holder. TIPS: If desired, a drop of blue or purple Loctite will help secure the rod if it becomes loose.
