The Fällkniven F1 Elmax Pilot Survival Knife is a high-quality survival knife specially developed for pilots in the Swedish Air Force. It took 8 years to develop this model. The result of numerous tests and design changes is a refined, well-thought-out, and safe knife that combines durability with a modern design. The Fällkniven F1 is versatile and can be used while hunting, camping, trekking, or on survival adventures. Since the anniversary edition of the F1 was so successful, Fällkniven decided to keep the Elmax steel F1 in its lineup. The knife comes with a practical Zytel handle. The blade is made from the popular Elmax steel. Elmax is a world-class Swedish powder-metals steel that is carefully heat-treated, cooled to minus 190°C, and then tempered for two hours to a hardness of HRC 61/62. This results in a strong yet tough steel that is not brittle. The blade of the Fällkniven F1 has been enhanced with a convex grind. This means the blade is curved toward the edge. The result is an incredibly strong and sharp blade.
