The Böker P-51 Damascus Titan knife isinspired by a true aviation classic, designed by Steve Kelly. Based on the North American P-51 Mustang, the knife incorporates the material, shape, and color of the 1940s fighter plane, thus creating an almost perfect representation of its historic role model. The special characteristics of the P-51 Mustang-whose “P” stands for “Pursuit”-lie in its aerodynamic all-metal construction with its distinctive recessed rivets. The heart of the Boker Plus P-51 Damascus is its striking blade, made from 80 layers of Damascus steel, which was forged by Chad Nichols in the U.S. and consists of original parts from the historic fighter plane. When viewed from the side, the blade bears some visual resemblance to the historic fighter-bomber. The thumb hole resembles the Plexiglas canopy of the cockpit, which provides the pilot with an ideal panoramic view. Another highlight is the titanium grip, which reproduces the aircraft’s riveted light metal panels in great detail. The blue shaft screw, which bears the U.S. Army Silver Star, and the red anodized screws, which are based on the rudder’s color scheme, are striking. The Titanium Frame Lock with a stainless steel insert promises exceptional reliability, holding the blade securely in place even during demanding tasks. Despite its clean lines, the handle fits comfortably in the hand thanks to its ergonomic indentations. The titanium clip is milled from solid material and allows for an upward-facing carry (r), while the lanyard hole offers additional attachment options.
