The Cold Steel HUDSON BAY CAMP HATCHET is just over 30 cm long and weighs less than 500 g. The Camp Hatchet is still a capable tool for cutting light branches, splitting kindling, sharpening tools and driving in tent pegs. Whether camping or on the move, the Camp Hatchet is a versatile tool with an innovative head design featuring a secure bolt-on clamp and a handle that is easy to replace in the field. The head, which is almost 25.5 cm thick, is made from durable 1055 carbon steel with a slim profile for fast and efficient cutting and a deep grip. The handle passes through the eye in the traditional manner, whilst the innovative bolt-clamp shaft ensures a very secure fit and quick replacement, with the bolts easily loosened using a single hex key. Made from genuine straight-grained hickory, the handle is relatively straight with a wide shoulder for a comfortable, firm grip for precision work, whilst ensuring fast cutting. The handle is angled for optimum handling and control.
