Replacement Wick for Exotac titanLIGHTTM (2-Pack) The wick included with the titanLIGHTTM should last a very long time if maintained properly. When the wick appears worn or thin, simply pull out more wick from the top and trim it with sharp scissors. If the wick gets snagged, you may need to remove the tank cap and cotton to free the wick enough so it can be pulled out. Once you’ve achieved the correct length (just above the flame guard), fold the wick between layers of cotton swabs and replace the tank cap.

HOW TO REPLACE THE WICK:

• Replacing the wick requires patience and a sharp pair of scissors.
• Remove the flame guard by pressing the brass pin while holding the guard down.
• Remove the cotton from inside the lighter’s body (use paper towels to absorb any excess lighter fluid).
• Remove the old wick. If necessary, clean the wick opening with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab.
• Cut the end of the new wick at a 45-degree angle with sharp scissors.
• Moisten the cut end of the wick with alcohol or a small amount of water.
• Holding the cut end, pull on the opposite end of the wick to stretch it and reduce its cross-sectional area.
• Insert the new wick from the outside through the top of the lighter, being careful not to fray it.
• Once the wick is inserted into the opening, slowly guide it in very small increments, always supporting it with your fingers as it enters the opening. If it frays, cut it off and start over.
• Once you see the wick in the fuel chamber, grasp it with tweezers or needle-nose pliers and pull it out.
• Leave approximately 2.5 cm protruding from the top of the titanLIGHTTM so it can be trimmed later.
• When replacing the cotton, it’s a good idea to fold the wick over the cotton to create “layers” until you reach the opening of the fuel chamber. This maximizes the wick’s surface area in contact with the cotton so it can absorb the fuel.
